Neighborhood Spotlight: Ashbury Heights, San Francisco

Ashbury Heights is a hip and happening neighborhood in San Francisco. The homes here are filled with classic style that make you want to live out your perfect vintage Hollywood lifestyle!
Adjacent to--and more upscale--than Haight-Ashbury, Ashbury Heights boasts pure San Francisco appeal. Right above Cole Valley and to the west of The Castro, the Ashbury Heights neighborhood is lined with homes that are a mix of Victorian and Art Deco architecture.
Multi-unit structures are not uncommon.
With a population upwards of 5000, Ashbury Heights still has an urban feel along with its classic charm. Our current governor (and former mayor) Gavin Newsom had a home here.
With its close proximity to businesses on Haight Street and Cole Valley, Ashbury Heights, even if on a hill, still appears connected and definitely accessible. In fact, it is en route to San Francisco’s most beautiful bus route, the 33, which feels more like a tour of the City rather than a bus ride!
Rebecca’s Take: This neighborhood is perfect for those looking at purchasing investment properties. According to data, over half of its residents are renters vs. homeowners. Multi-unit structures in and around hip but classic parts of the City will surely make your investment here turn a good profit. Families will also benefit from the A-rating of public schools in and around the area. Singles, on the other hand, will enjoy the proximity to nightlife and recreation options such as Buena Vista Park and Golden Gate Park.
